A
family of 7 wild Snowdonia mountain goats lives near the house
for most of the year. They are very timid and are most often
seen in the early morning or late evening. They feed on just
about anything and it is quite a sight to see them standing
on their hind legs to reach the most attractive branches.
This particular goat is less camera shy than the others having survived the ordeal of hanging upside down from a fence for a couple of days. The RSPCA and local farmer cut her free and cared for her for many weeks until she was strong enough to rejoin the rest of the family. Her story can be found on the BBC website.

Needless to say this is sheep country and it's amazing how
well you can get to know them in a short holiday! Several
have been named, such as Shaggy, Balloo and Horse. Can you
work out which is which? Up here they perform the early morning
duties of the cockerel and during the evenings they graze
nonchalantly beneath the balcony. Sometimes they even seek
shelter in the front porch.
